I’m Doris — relocation coach, slow-traveling mum of three, lifelong explorer, and firm believer that life expands when you follow your curiosity.
People describe me as a creative thinker with a deeply human approach. I blend empathy with structure and curiosity with clarity, shaped by decades of navigating change, culture, identity and belonging across borders. Everything I’ve learned now forms the foundation of how I guide others through major transitions, including international moves and complete lifestyle redesigns.
If you’re longing for more than a change of address — a life that feels aligned, intentional and truly yours — I’m here to help you design it with confidence.
I grew up in the Dolomites and left South Tyrol in my late teens to explore the world. I began with regional travel and seasonal student jobs within Europe. After earning two degrees in translation and interpreting and becoming fluent in four European languages, I went intercontinental. I spent a year traveling through Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, then another crossing the Americas from Tierra del Fuego to Alaska. Long before “digital nomad” was a thing, I was filing translations from internet cafés, learning how to balance freedom with structure and responsibility.
Eventually, I slowed down long enough to build a career in London — leading multicultural teams in project, account and talent management across New York, San Francisco, Singapore and Sydney. These years taught me how people work, what they need to thrive, and how much unseen emotional labour exists inside international careers and cross-border lives.
When I became a mum, I almost believed the story that adventure ends with children. That motherhood means choosing predictability over possibility, safety over adventure.
But that wasn’t our story.
Slowly and intentionally, my husband and I began exploring again: first close to home, then across Europe, and eventually through Africa, Asia and the Americas together with our three young children.
To date, we’ve lived in nine countries and travelled to over 90 — 50 of them as a family. Our relocations have taken us from the buzz of London to the calm of Málaga’s Mediterranean coast, from vibrant Belfast to cosmopolitan Zurich, and to a tiny Alpine village in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. Each place shaped us: teaching resilience, curiosity, and how to design a life that fits rather than a life that happens to us.
Along the way, we created Ca’Dario Andalucia, our home base and soulful holiday villa for families in Southern Spain — a place rooted in connection, belonging and slow living.
I later deepened my practice through a life-coaching programme and recently with an ICF-accredited relocation coaching certificate, bringing together 15+ years of experience in leadership, communication and cultural adaptation with the lived reality of raising a multilingual family across borders.
I coach because I’ve lived the full arc of relocation — the excitement, the grief, the identity shift, the quiet moments of wondering who you are becoming. I’ve watched people organise their entire move around logistics while completely missing the emotional earthquake happening underneath.
I’ve learned that a move abroad doesn’t change your life unless you change with it.
Relocation is emotional.
It’s relational.
It’s identity work.
When approached intentionally, it becomes one of the most powerful tools for reinventing your life — a chance to step out of old patterns and design the way you truly want to live.
As a certified coach, I now support individuals, couples and families through every stage of this journey — from the first whisper of “something needs to change” to the grounded reality of building a life abroad that fits who you are becoming.
Because relocation isn’t just about moving — it’s about becoming who you’re meant to be in your next chapter.
